European Projects

The international impact of the University of Cádiz’s research and knowledge transfer activities is a primary objective of our institution. To this end, we have an Office for European and International Projects (OPEI) staffed by four specialized professionals who provide support to researchers with the aim of increasing their participation in European and international R&D&I projects, with a particular focus on calls for proposals under the European Horizon Europe program.

The main services available to the university community are as follows:

Opportunity Identification:

  • One-on-one meetings with researchers to gain a detailed understanding of their research areas and provide information on European and international programs that best align with their work.
  • Development of an action plan to enhance their standing at the European level.
  • Identification of calls for proposals and topics of interest to the researcher.
  • Identification of the most relevant European-level events for the research group.
  • Establishing contacts with public and private entities considered of interest as potential partners for collaborative R&D&I projects.
  • Identifying specialized dissemination platforms.
  • Providing researchers with information on available grants for identifying opportunities and preparing proposals

Proposal Preparation:

  • Assistance in finding partners.
  • Collaboration in the proposal drafting process, with a special focus on the sections regarding impact and exploitation of results.
  • Contacting the National Contact Points (NCPs) for the relevant European program to gather their feedback on the proposal.
  • Preparation of the proposal’s administrative information documents; management of the signing of documents by the institution’s legal representative.

Project implementation:

  • Management of all legal documentation necessary for the launch of projects.
  • Technical support for researchers in the day-to-day management of ongoing projects.
  • Technical assistance to researchers in project meetings with partners.
  • Support in preparing the technical and financial justifications for the projects.
